Grand Forks teen sentenced for his roll in shooting in Ramada parking lot in 2025

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — A Grand Forks teen will spend 10 years in prison for attempted murder.

18-year-old Walker Poitra pleaded guilty on Monday to nine of 13 counts including attempted murder, terrorizing and reckless endangerment.

Four counts were dismissed.

In January 2025, Poitra and Mason Allery fired several rounds into a car with five juveniles inside in the Ramada parking lot in Grand Forks.

Two people were shot and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

In January, Allery was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He was convicted of five counts of attempted murder and other charges.
