Police advise caution as black bear is sighted in north Fargo.

FARGO (KVRR) – Fargo police are asking people to use caution following a black bear sighting in North Fargo.

The bear was reported in an area between 19th Ave. N. and 40th Ave. N., and from Broadway N. to the Red River.

Police are advising that children and small pets be kept indoors. and to avoid the area if possible. They say fewer people in the area helps reduce stress on the bear and supports a safer outcome.

Officers are monitoring the bear and working with North Dakota Game and Fish and the Red River Zoo.
