Ed Clapp Fourth Graders Let Off Halloween S.T.E.A.M.

Ed Clapp Elementary School is blowing off STEAM for Halloween.

The 4th graders enjoyed some Halloween fun as they participated in Halloween themed science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Teachers designed four STEAM challenges using Halloween icons and items.

These included a Pumpkin Tower Challenge, Candy Corn Catapults, Floating Peeps Challenge and Creepy Creature Catch.

“I think just watching the excitement the kids have when they come in and see what they’re going to do,” said Bonnie Leier, who is a fourth grade teacher at Ed Clapp. “In my room, they’re doing the the cannonpult, so to use that knowledge and to work together to build.”

Students had 45 minutes to create their solutions of each challenge.
