Police searching for person of interest following south Fargo stabbing
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A stabbing is putting a neighborhood in South Fargo on alert for suspicious behavior while police search for a person of interest.
Police say a 24-year-old man was stabbed near 25th Street and Demores Drive South Friday morning around 5:00.
When officers arrived, the victim was conscious, but had deep and serious lacerations to his abdomen and was taken to the hospital.
Police are searching a man as a person of interest.
“It’s a great neighborhood. You know, you have the minor thing, but really it’s been a pretty quite neighborhood. Like I said, there has been minor things but nothing like this,” Almer said.
Almer and her husband typically go to work around the time the crime happened.
“I usually leave at 5:15. So does he, but I didn’t have to work today, so he said when he left there were a lot of cops. You know, a lot of cops flashing lights and at that point he didn’t know what was going on,” Almer said.
Her husband says they had the neighborhood entrance and exits blocked off while examining the scene and looking for the person of interest. She says living so close to the crime makes her more aware and take more precautions when going out.
“I mean, when you look at it and you hear about it all over, but then you look at two houses down and you’re looking at that’s close to home,” Almer said.
