FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – We are hearing from Fargo Police Officer Zach Robinson, who shot and killed Mohamad Barakat after he ambushed officers responding to a crash on Friday, July 14.
Three officers and a civilian were shot. 23-year-old officer Jake Wallin died in the attack.
Fargo Police released a video with officer Robinson. He talked about that fateful day and how it’s impacted him, the victims, their families and the entire law enforcement community.
“Very grateful for the community. Just, like, driving around, seeing all the blue lights. Everybody that obviously cares about all of us. Not just me being checked in on, it’s been every member of the department,” Robinson said.
“People have checked in on them to see how they’re doing too because everybody was affected. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time but it could have been anybody else too.”
After his experience, Robinson says he has no plan to leave law enforcement. We will have much more from him Tuesday on KVRR Local News at 5:30 and after Game 4 of the World Series.
