Plan to move West Fargo City Hall staff and expand police headquarters gets approved

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR-KFGO) – West Fargo City Commissioners approved a plan to move staff from city hall and lease the Wex building south of I-94 for about $725,000 a year. The vote was 3-2.
That move will provide more space for the current crowded police headquarters and added expansion.
City Administrator Dustin Scott says the move will involve a five-year lease for office space for city staff at City Hall and the Pioneer Center.
There will be about $575,000 annually in lease payments and an additional $150,000 in annual expenses including taxes, specials, operations, and maintenance. There will also be initial improvements and fit-ups estimated at $500,000.
It’s expected to take three to six months to move to the new location
City commissioners also directed staff to move ahead to work with an architect to start the planning and design services needed for the police expansion at City Hall.
