KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KVRR) – Carson Wentz has a new team.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Wentz is signing with the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The deal is reportedly for one year.

Wentz spent much of 2023 unemployed. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams and started only one game, a one-point win over the San Francisco 49ers in the last game of the season after the Rams has already clinched a playoff spot.

The former NDSU star and Bismarck native will join his fifth team in as many seasons. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016 and was the team’s starter until he was benched late in the 2020 season. He was then traded twice, suffering through sub-par stints as the stater in Indianapolis and Washington before signing with the Rams last season.

It appears that his days as a starting quarterback are over. The Chiefs are set there, with two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes under center.
