UPDATE: Two Deputies Shot But Have Non-Life-Threatening Injuries, Gunman Dead in Minnetonka, MN

MINNETONKA, Minn. (KVRR/FOX9/CNN: 8pm UPDATE) — Two Hennepin County sheriff’s deputies were shot while serving a warrant and a suspect was killed during an exchange of gunfire in the Minneapolis suburb of Minnetonka.
The shootout happened just before 11:20 a.m.
One deputy was taken to a hospital with injuries that were “very serious” but not life-threatening according to Sheriff Dawanna Witt.
The other deputy was treated on-site and released.
The suspect died at the scene.
Investigators are still determining whether it was the person named in the felony warrant.
Minnesota BCA say the suspect shot first and the deputies returned fire.

Both deputies are expected to survive their injuries.
Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt says they were attempting to arrest a suspect on a felony warrant when someone in the house opened fire.
One deputy was rushed to the hospital while the other was treated at the scene.
Officers still aren’t sure the person armed with a gun was the suspect they were looking for.
Minnesota BCA is investigating.
MINNETONKA, Minn. (KVRR/FOX9/CNN) — Two deputies are shot and injured while they executed a warrant at a home in a Minnetonka neighborhood, just west of Minneapolis.
Both deputies are expected to survive their injuries.
One deputy is being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center while the other was treated at the scene.
The standoff left the entire neighborhood shut down this afternoon, with a shelter-in-place order.
Police say the situation is contained to a house.
“There is no threat to the public and it’s my understanding that the sheriff’s office is going to be having a press conference here in the next couple of hours. That will provide more details. We have advised our schools that they can release as normal again, there’s no threat to the public. It is contained to the home which is just south of here,” said Scott Boerboom, Minnetonka Police Chief.
Armed law enforcement officers are sweeping the woods near the scene.
