Fatal crash in Pine River Township, Minnesota

PINE RIVER, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — Two people die in a crash in Pine River Township, 30 miles south of Walker.

The crash was reported just after midnight.

Minnesota State Patrol says the pickup driver, 32-year-old Kyle Jones and 30-year-old passenger, Mandy Tellinghuisen, both of  Bayport, were traveling westbound on 24th Street Southwest when they collided head-on with a car.

The car, driven by 39-year-old Royal Noe, of Hillman, and passenger, 50-year-old Heather Cevallos, of Brainerd, both died at the scene.

There were two other male passengers in the car.

Fifty-three-year-old Kelly Kushel was transported to St. Joseph’s Health with life-threatening injuries. Details have not been released for the other passenger, a 36-year-old Brainerd man.

Jones and Tellinghuisen were also transported to St. Joseph’s Health with life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
