New manager takes over Epic Companies property in Moorhead

FARGO (KVRR) – A Fargo property management company has taken over at least one property that was formerly managed by West Fargo-based Epic Companies.

According to an email obtained by KVRR Local News, Personal Touch Property Management is now managing the Block E apartments in downtown Moorhead.

The takeover is effective immediately. Tenants were instructed to submit rental payments to Personal Touch as of June 1.

The email from Epic says “Over the next week, (Personal Touch) will be reaching out to you with more information. You are more than welcome to reach out to our team during this process and we will assist as much as possible during this transition.”

A number of employees were recently laid off from Epic and some contractors who are owed money say they’re worried about getting paid for work they’ve already done.

One of the contractors told KVRR Local News that when he showed up for work, he was told there’s no money to pay him.

On May 17, an agent with the North Dakota Securities Commission was at the company’s West Fargo Offices. A note on the door said “open by appointment only.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison have declined to comment on the matter.

“Unfortunately, we can’t say anything publicly,” according to Ellison spokesman Brian Evans. “The Attorney General’s Office cannot confirm or deny the existence of an investigation.

Multiple attempts have been made to speak with Epic officials, but Epic has not responded to any requests for comment.

Epic owns and manages commercial and residential buildings across the region, notably The Lights and Sheyenne Plaza in West Fargo and developments in Fargo, Moorhead, Grand Forks, Perham, Jamestown, and Bismarck.

Personal Touch Property Management has not responded to our request for comment.
