Severe storms, heavy rain floods area fields and ditches

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — In recent weeks, we’ve seen severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings, confirmed touchdowns and flooding across the region due to the strong storms that keep coming.

Farmland and ditches are full of water, as seen in this video.

I-94 going out towards the west side of the state was flooded due to the heavy rains.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks confirmed that tornados did touchdown in the Jamestown area.

And that even small one can cause a lot of damage.

Tyler Thomas, Grand Forks NWS, says, “There was a report of 88 miles per hour winds up in Jamestown. That’s EF-0 to EF-1 strength so whether it’s a tornado or not it’s going to do the same damage. Obviously you get four to five inches of rain over a city there’s going to be flooding.”

In the case of tornado activity, avoid the roads and find shelter and safety.
