Two men arrested for theft of generator, trailer in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Two men have been arrested for theft of an expensive generator and trailer in Clay County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of 90th Avenue North and 170th Street, located west of Hitterdal, on Sunday.

The equipment is estimated at approximately $45,000.

The stolen generator was found in an abandoned slough area and trailer was nearby.

Deputies set up a perimeter and started searching for the suspects. They found 37-year-old Jason Austin,of Pelican Rapids, walking along a gravel road.

Late Sunday night, a state trooper located 44-year-old Joshua Moen, of Crosby.

Both Moen and Austin are facing felony theft and misdemeanor trespassing charges.
