UND to search for new women’s soccer head coach; previous coach takes to social media

GRAND FORKS (KVRR) – University of North Dakota announced on Monday their decision to allow the contract of women’s soccer head coach, Chris Logan, to expire in December. On Logan’s personal X (formerly Twitter) account, he made references to an alleged Title IX complaint made by the soccer program minutes after the school’s decision.

“I met with Bill Chaves, Liz Jarnigan, and Erik Martinson as well we Donna Smith. I didn’t agree with trying to cover up a Title IX complaint to protect Bill, and here we are.” wrote Coach Logan on X.

Coach Chris Logan’s X posts

“The decision announced Monday, 11/25/24, regarding Chris Logan, was made independent of and is not connected in any way to any ongoing internal review involving the UND Soccer program. We have nothing further to add as we do not typically comment on employee personnel matters apart from what is stated in university public releases.” wrote UND in a statement to KVRR.

Logan had coached at UND since December 2016 and led the Fighting Hawks to a 49-68-24 record. The school announced on Monday they are using a national search to find a new head coach to take over the program.
