Rifle Plates Gifted To Cass County Sheriff’s Office

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass County Sheriff’s Office got a special invite to Scheels in Fargo to receive a gift.

A donation of rifle plates was made with the partnership of Scheel’s and Shield 616, a charity focused on helping first responders.

They are protective inserts that protect against rifle bullets.

The Minnesota founder of Shield 616 started the charity after an active shooting in Colorado Springs in 2015.

His tactical force team experience made him want to help law enforcement.

“So we want to make sure they are protected against those threats, so we donate angel armors all day, rifle-rated plates to first responders all across the country,” said Jake Skifstad, Founder and President of Shield 616.

“We feel blessed and we feel honored this morning to be, to have their partnership and the community’s support,” said Sheriff Jesse Jahner, Cass County Sheriff.

The sheriff’s office received 60 rifle plates for their deputies.
