Fargo Man Arrested for Burglary Near Barnesville
The man was allegedly attempting to steal a safe from a home.
WILKIN COUNTY, MN – A Fargo man is under arrest following a burglary in Wilkin County.
The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Benjamin Emerson arrived at and parked in the garage of a home on Friday, December 20th.
He then tried to load a safe from the home into his truck by using a floor jack but was unsuccessful. Ultimately, he used a chain to drag the safe into the yard and then left the premises.
On Friday, December 27th, Wilkin County deputies along with Fargo Police Department detectives executed a warrant to search Emerson’s Fargo home.
He was arrested by the FPD on local charges and by the Wilkin County deputies for burglary and theft.
He was initially held in the Cass County Jail before being transferred to the Wilkin County jail on Saturday.
