Cyber Monday Offers Competitive Deals
Experts predict that this year will be the first time online sales for Cyber Monday will hit a total of $3 billion.
Online retailers are gearing up for Cyber Monday by offering more competitive deals than ever before.
A lot of big box companies are trying to compete with the big “eātailer” Amazon’s prices, which are enticing many shoppers.
Two game changers this year are the early roll out deals and the exclusive app only specials.
“Ship it straight to my house versus get out in the public and get trampled over. I rather not do that,” says Cyber shopper, Jeremiah Berdt.
Stores like Best Buy, Target, Apple and Dell are offering free shipping with no minimum purchase.
Amazon has a minimum of $35.
But shipping prices won’t have consumers fleeing away from the digital door busters.
“I like to shop online anyways because it’s easier than going out sometimes. Especially with Black Friday it gets really busy so it’s kind of nice to stay inside and get some good deals,” says shopper, Katie McConnell.
Walmart is jumping the gun by rolling out their Cyber Monday which has already started.
They promise at least 2,000 deals.
Cyber Monday or more like Cyber Sunday, still has shoppers ready to click the “proceed to checkout” button.
“It’s something that I would do. I always check out everything to see what best deals I can possibly get,” says Berdt.
Target on the other hand is still holding its 10 days Cyber Week special.
But a big promotion Target has for Cyber Monday is a store-wide 15% off on all items.
“I’m going to guess that TVs will still go really great online, maybe some electronics, go pros, iPad,” says Target manager, Tina Jean Miller.
Companies are pushing shoppers to go mobile by offering app only specials.
Amazon is one of the big players promoting this by having daily holiday deals.
“Yea, I got quite a few different programs that’s app deal only. I tend to install them just for that but a lot of the time I still use the browser,” says Berdt.
Downloading apps for Cyber Monday deals is fairly new and hasn’t really gained momentum yet.
But one of the best prices for a HD TV this year was a 50″ flat screen on the Amazon app for $150.
So if you want to save the extra cash it doesn’t hurt to download your favorite retailer’s app.
