Injury Crash in Becker County

Investigators are still unsure what caused the man to crash his car.

TOAD LAKE TOWNSHIP, MN – A man has suffered extensive injuries following an early morning crash in Becker County.

At 4:54 A.M. on February 7, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a cell phone detected crash at the intersection of Co. Rd. 151 and 460th Ave., in Toad Lake Township.

A deputy arrived on scene at 5:00 A.M. and located a single vehicle that had crashed into the trees at that intersection.

A male driver, who was the sole occupant, was located inside the vehicle with what appeared to be extensive injuries.

The deputy performed life saving measures until additional first responders arrived on scene.

The driver was identified as Kelly William Paurus, age 40, of Menahga, MN. Paurus was flown to a Fargo Hospital for further treatment where his condition remains unknown.

The cause of the crash is also still under investigation.
