West Fargo School Faculty Member Wins Award

Jen Volk of Legacy Elementary was surprised with the award today during an assembly.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – West Fargo Public Schools organized a surprise ceremony to honor one very worthy educator.

Jen Volk, an Administrative Assistant at Legacy Elementary School, received the Classified Staff of the Year award.

Volk was honored for her tendency to go above and beyond in her role to make sure that every student has a positive experience.

She said receiving the award was a total shock and she’s just grateful that she gets to give back to the community she loves.

“It is honestly really special. It’s overwhelming, I’m pretty speechless, but it means a lot,” she said. “My favorite part of my job is all the relationships I’ve gotten to make over the years I’ve been here.”

The award also came with a $500 check from the district.

Volk says her family is going to put that money towards a vacation.
