Shamrock Shake Donation Hits $160,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Lovers of Shamrock Shakes have a new reason to celebrate McDonald’s annual tradition.
Twenty-five cents from each shake sold between February 10 and March 23 is being donated.
The total is a whopping $160,000.
The money is going to the nine Ronald McDonald House Charities in North Dakota and Minnesota.
It was raised by McDonald’s North Star Alliance which represents McDonald’s restaurants in Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Wisconsin.
“We are ecstatic. We found out a couple of weeks ago that we were the recipients of part of the McDonalds money and we’re just so grateful. There are 24 locally-owned McDonalds restaurants in our region that funnels support directly to our house, and we’re just incredibly grateful,” said Jakelle Hoffmann with Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley.
Minnesota opened its first Ronald McDonald House in 1979.
The Ronald McDonald House in Fargo began in 1982.
