Measles confirmed in Burke County as number of North Dakota cases jumps to 28

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) – The North Dakota Dept. of Health and Human Services says a case of measles has been confirmed in Burke County, making it the fourth county in the state impacted by the disease.
The number of measles cases in the state have increased to 28 since May 2.
The affected person traveled frequently to Williams County before the illness.
Early vaccination is not recommended in Burke, Cass or Grand Forks counties. Investigations show no evidence of community spread in those areas.
HHS continues to recommend early and accelerated MMR vaccines for people living in, or traveling to Williams County.
