FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – An intersection in downtown Fargo is now shut down in anticipation of a mural being installed on the street itself.

The closure began at 6 A.M. today at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 5th Street North.

The nonprofit group Folkways received an AARP grant to install the mural – a colorful, large-scale pattern that reflects the region’s landscape – on the street surface of the intersection, using an epoxy product.

The intersection will be shut down until Friday, July 11, with the grand unveiling of the mural expected for the Red River Market on July 12.
