West Fargo’s head football coach announces resignation after 35 seasons

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Head Coach Jay Gibson announces his resignation after 35 seasons coaching the West Fargo Packers.

Gibson led the Packers to an impressive 217–140 record, a 61% winning percentage, and 29 playoff appearances. Gibson also led West Fargo to capture 11 Eastern Dakota Conference titles and advance to the state championship game seven times, winning six state titles.

He was named North Dakota’s Football Coach of the Year five times.

Before coming to West Fargo, he was defensive coordinator at Bismarck High.
