Shooting death investigation in Wilkin County

WILKIN COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting death that happened after midnight.

Authorities received a call for a person shot in the 1700 block of MN Hwy 75 near Wolverton around 12:49 a.m.

When law enforcement arrived, a man was found with a gunshot injury and died at the scene.

A suspect was identified and later arrested. According to the jail roster, Myron Johanson, 26, was taken into custody and booked into jail after 9:00 this morning on a 3rd degree murder charge.

Authorities say they believe Johanson and the victim knew each other and there is no threat to the public.

The victim will be identified once the preliminary autopsy is complete and family has been notified.
