WASHINGTON — The House Oversight Committee hears testimony regarding fraud in Minnesota.

Three Minnesota Republican Representatives spoke to the committee about their fraud investigation, attempting to lay the blame at the feet of Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

The representatives gave their opinions on the issue with the House Oversight Committee along with testimony from Brendan Ballou, who was a special counsel for the U.S. Department of Justice.

The hearing got heated at times as Democrat committee members pointed out alleged fraud in the Trump administration, saying the federal investigation on fraud is politically motivated.

Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), says they they plan to continue their investigations on welfare programs in the state of Minnesota.

“Minnesota’s social services, which are funded by you the American taxpayer, are being ripped off. The most vulnerable are suffering as a result. Federal prosecutors estimate these criminals have stolen at least $9 billion,” Comer said.
