Driver charged after going 104 mph on closed I-29

FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – A driver has been charged and fined after going more than 100 miles per hour on a closed interstate during Sunday’s snow storm.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Interstate-29 was closed due to blizzard conditions and low visibility when a trooper stopped a driver going 104 mph in an 80 mph zone.
The driver was issued a $140 fine and 7 points for speeding. In North Dakota, when a driver accumulates 12 or more points on their driving record, their driving privileges are suspended for 7 days for each point over 11.
The driver was also charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment because a child was in the vehicle.
