National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day Brings Community Out Early for Treats
The nationwide tradition takes on special significance in the F-M area, as many stores use it as a sort of re-opening date after being closed during colder stretches of the calendar.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A beloved, decadent tradition returned to ice cream shops across the F-M metro on Saturday.
National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day brought families and ice cream enthusiasts out in droves.
Many stores, like The Silver Lining Creamery in Downtown Fargo and Lundy’s at the Lights in West Fargo, teamed with Sandy’s Donuts to make their over-the-top breakfast special.
Silver Lining even said that they introduced some new flavors specifically for this event.
“We opened at 8 o’clock in the morning,” said Michelle Pulling, owner of The Silver Lining Creamery. “We literally have been working like crazy to make all this ice cream, and we’re able to make different flavors. So we have some that are more breakfast-themed, and some, of course, of our customers’ favorites.”
National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day typically marks when ice cream shops in the region re-open for full-time business after closing for a bit during the coldest part of the year.
Silver Lining is particularly excited to get back at it, as they’ve made a major change in eliminating seed oils from their baked goods.
