FARGO, N.D. — Students at Davies High School put down the books and are picking up protest signs.

The protest is in response to ICE activity in Minnesota and across the country.

Starting at around 3 p.m. around 25 students gathered near the school’s main parking lot, holding signs and cheering when passing cars honked their horns in support.

Shortly after gathering, one of the student protestors read a prepared speech outlining why they were out protesting.

“Speak openly and stand firmly because when future generations ask what we did in this moment, we can say we did not stay silent, we stood up and chose humanity,” Davies Junior Violet Bithow said to the crowd.

After the speech, the student protestors marched north along 25th Street South.
