Moorhead man charged with using dead man’s alias to get prescribed cough syrup

LAMOURE, N.D. (KFGO) — A Moorhead man is facing felony charges in LaMoure County, North Dakota, for allegedly trying to use a dead man’s identification to buy cough syrup.
Court records show LaMoure Police were contacted by a nurse practitioner February 27 who reported a man using what she believed to be fake names to get prescribed promethazine. The man used the identification of 38-year-old Samuel Kollie to get the prescription. Samuel Kollie died in Fargo in 2020.
Action Brownell, 28, was arrested. Police say he admitted to using an alias to get prescribed cough syrup.
While investigating, LaMoure Police learned Brownell also used the alias Ansu Khalifa to get prescribed cough syrup on February 12.
Brownell is charged with two felony counts of acquiring controlled substances by misrepresentation.
