Five people killed in crash between passenger van and SUV in far southwest Minnesota

WINDOM, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) – Five people were killed in a head on crash involving a full passenger van and SUV in far southwest Minnesota on Friday.

The driver of the SUV and four of 13 people in the van were killed in the collision.

Two of the van’s passengers suffered life threatening injuries and seven others have non-life threatening injuries, including the diver.

The victims were taken to hospitals in Redwood Falls and Windom, Minnesota.

One of the passengers with life threatening injuries was flown to Sanford in Sioux Falls.

Those killed were from Springfield, Jackson and Lakefield, Minnesota.

 

Those killed in the crash have been identified as

  • Martin Hanson, 67, of Springfield, Minnesota
  • Kelly Hargus, 49, of Jackson, Minnesota
  • Kathleen Johnson, 73, of Jackson, Minnesota
  • Richard Johnson, 73, of Jackson, Minnesota
  • Lindsey Rossow, 47, of Lakefield, Minnesota
