FARGO — Work is well underway on the final phase of road construction on 32nd Avenue South in Fargo.

This year, the construction is focused east of University Drive, with work also being done on 15th Street South and stretching to the Red River.

Construction crews will be replacing aging infrastructure, enhance sidewalks and improve the storm water system.

The city held an open house for people affected by the construction, answering their questions and listening to their concerns.

Contractors working on the project are being incentivized to complete the work early.

“We hope to have everything open by Oct. 9th. And then we are incentivising the contractor to hopefully get this done sooner,” said Fargo Traffic Engineer Eric Hodgson. “So if the contractor is able to complete all the work and have everything open by Sept. 9th, they do receive incentives in a monetary value in order to do that.”
