Vitalant director holding blood drive in honor of her daughter Roma

FARGO — Vitalant will be holding a blood drive in honor of someone that touched many lives in her life.
Vitalant Executive Director Jennifer Campbell says her late daughter Roma had special needs, but that Roma always woke up each morning saying that day is going to be the best day ever.
Jennifer says that her cared about others, even people she didn’t know. Her daughter would often close her hands in prayer whenever an ambulance would drive by to give a small prayer for the person inside.
Roma passed away three years ago, and her mother decided to hold a blood drive in her honor.
The drive is called Roma’s Best Day Ever Rememberance Blood Drive, and her mom says she is holding the drive in her honor so that others can experience hope during difficult times.
“We can give back and do things for other people and it doesn’t have to be much,” said Jennifer. “It doesn’t have to cost us anything, you can help a family or person in need just by donating blood and it’s just a very unselfish way to give. Just to roll up your sleeve and donate blood to a person that you don’t even know.”
Jenniffer says she hopes to get at least 98 people to come give blood. Roma was born in 1998.
The blood drive will be held on Tuesday, June second at True North Church in Fargo. Visit this story on our website to learn how to make an appointment.
