Outdoor adventure park opens outside of Fargo inviting families for woodsy experience

HICKSON, N.D. (KVRR) — It’s not a playground or a museum, but it is something exciting for everyone.
Rope and Oak Children’s Nature Park is a 12-acre outdoor adventure experience.
The nature park was created by a local couple who wanted to bring a new experience for families.
After researching local pumpkin patches and other experiences, the park came together.
The adventure is a half-mile trail filled with attractions and learning about North Dakota wildlife and agriculture.
“I don’t think there’s enough opportunities for kids to be outdoors, in the real woods – especially these days, where technology has really taken over in education and everything. So I was like, ‘We could really have a spot where people in Fargo – we’re 10 minutes away – can go and just be outside.’ Be in the woods, and see what it’s like to really be among wildlife. Especially bugs like we got today,” said Dixon Schwan, Owner of Rope N’ Oak.
The nature park is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 12 pm to 7 pm.
