Woman convicted of murder in northwest Minnesota

HALLOCK, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – A Kennedy, Minnesota woman has been convicted of second-degree felony murder in Kittson County.

Jordan Carol Hanson pleaded guilty May 28 in the shooting death of Justin Esparza, who was killed at his home in March of last year.

The case was prosecuted by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office after a referral from the Kittson County attorney.

Ellison thanked local law enforcement and the BCA for their work on the case.
