Clay County attorney officially launches reelection bid

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Clay County Attorney Brian Melton has announced his intention to seek reelection.

“I’m excited to get the campaign underway,” Melton said. “We have a great team at the Clay County Attorney’s Office, and I look forward to highlighting the hard work our attorneys and staff do every day.”

I’m also eager to discuss the leadership and experience I have brought to this office over the past 20 years as the elected County Attorney.”

Melton, a retired Minnesota National Guard colonel, has been the county’s chief prosecutor for the past 20 years.

Previously, Melton was an assistant county attorney who worked alongside former Clay County Attorney Lisa Borgen.
