Driver Hits Fire Hydrant After Fargo Police Chase

Police did not pursue the car but in an attempt to get away, the driver turned off 25th Street South at Flickertail Drive, lost control of his car,and struck a fire hydrant.

FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A man was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop by Fargo police early Wednesday morning.

Police did not pursue the car but in an attempt to get away, the driver turned off 25th Street South at Flickertail Drive, lost control of his car,and struck a fire hydrant.

The impact sheared off the hydrant and it ended up in the yard of a duplex.

Sgt. Matt Ystebo says officers followed the trail of debris and leaking fluid from the car and found the heavily damaged vehicle with its air bags deployed, and the suspect several blocks away.

The man ran but was caught by police.

29-year old Terry Perry of Fargo is facing numerous charges including preventing arrest, possession of narcotics and driving under suspension.

Perry was taken to the hospital and cleared before being taken to jail.
