Clara Barton Elementary Students Debut Published Storybooks
Students at Clara Barton Elementary are debuting their own storybooks for the school’s literacy celebration.
More than 40 students from the Gifted and Talented Language Arts program have been working on their stories since November.
The student authors wrote “Fractured Fairy Tales.”
It’s an added twist to the classic stories we all know and love.
Students also edited, illustrated and produced their own original hardcover books.
“It was really exciting to get the book bound and actually published. I learned a lot from it. And I learned how to fracture a fairy tale,” says fifth grader Mila Mathern-Jacobson.
This project gives students an opportunity to understand the process of creative writing.
