Moorhead Public Schools Additions

A task force is recommending more than $78 million in construction and remodeling projects for Moorhead Public Schools.

The projects include a new elementary school and an addition to the middle school.

The new plans will also feature more secure entrances for the schools.

There have also been talks about remodeling or building an additional high school.

The plan will officially be presented to the Moorhead School Board on February 9th.

“We used to have open spaces those have been made into classrooms with narrow hallways now for kids so it’s just not the best environment for them so we’re looking at some ways to go back to the schools the way they were originally built,” said Moorhead Superintendent of Schools Lynne Kovash.

Superintendent Kovash says the district is taking input and gathering feedback before the final recommendation next month.
