Lawmakers Hear Testimony on Medical Marijuana
People suffering chronic pain and parents of critically ill children are pleading with lawmakers to legalize medicinal marijuana in North Dakota.
The House Human Services Committee took testimony on a bill that would allow pot or cannabis-related products for medical use.
Ashley Riggs, of Minot, told the committee her two sons are terminally ill and suffer from seizures and other symptoms.
She says her children and others could be helped by medicinal marijuana.
Health officials and Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem oppose the measure.
