Senators Vote to Rollback Dayton Raises
Minnesota state senators have voted to roll back salary increases for members of Gov. Dayton’s cabinet.
Senators voted 63-2 to suspend hefty pay hikes Dayton granted to commissioners last month.
The charge was led by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk and supported by Republicans who argued the Legislature should go even further in stopping salary bumps.
Dayton maintains he was within the law in boosting pay and wouldn’t support efforts to trim salaries.
