$120 Million Flood Work Bill Stalled

A bill that contains $120 million for building dikes and levees in Fargo has been put on hold.

That’s the reason nearly 100 city and business leaders visited Bismarck to talk with lawmakers and the governor about the need for the funding.

Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney says there may be a solution.

He says Fargo has projects “shovel ready” and engineers have been asked to determine those costs and that’s what lawmakers may fund.

Mahoney says he’s “cautiously optimistic” Fargo will see the money.
