Moorhead Robotics Team Prepares For Competition
There are more robotics teams in Minnesota than there are hockey teams. That’s what Senator Al Franken told the Moorhead High School robotics team at their last competition.
Now the team, including our very own Rob Kupec’s son, Quinn, is getting ready for their next tournament in Minneapolis. The team called the Spudnik had six weeks to build a robot that fit the criteria of the competition.
“We constructed a robot that uses an elevator platform with a couple of hooks on it so it’s raised by a pulley system so that it comes up and can stack multiple crates on top of each other and then carry them around the field successfully,” Kupec explains.
The team has a fundraiser for their tournament in April. If you head to Pizza Ranch in Dilworth next Wednesday and say you are there for Team Spudnik, you will get 10 percent off your bill and that money will go to the team.
