Development in Fargo

More growth in Fargo is raising concerns.

The increase in population may bring more private development that could also create problems with things like utilities.

Aspens, Cottagewood and Gracie’s Glade are just three of the latest private housing developments in the area.

Fire department officials say private hydrants and drives need to be discussed when it comes to emergencies.

Fargo Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson said, 
 
“If it’s a single home of homeowners at a homeowners association, then you know they are required to maintain their private drives and private hydrants so we’re just here to make sure that message gets across. So, then we can have safe areas whether they are public or private.”

Developers are planning to speak to the city commission in the near future.
