New North Dakota Oil Rules Take Effect
New rules for North Dakota’s oil industry take effect Wednesday.
The regulations require oil companies to remove certain liquids and gasses to make crude safer to transport by rail.
Industry officials were at first opposed to the changes, but crude oil from North Dakota has been linked to several fiery train crashes in the past two years.
A North Dakota Petroleum Council Vice President says companies are already in the process of complying with the new rules.
