Hans Christian Andersen Story and Craft Event
People aren’t “letting go” of one author’s legend who wrote the classic version of Disney’s Frozen.
Community members celebrated Hans Christian Andersen’s 210th birthday by reading one of his fairy tales “The Nightingale.”
They also made paper crafts in honor of the Danish author.
Organizers say the crafts keep his unique version of storytelling alive.
“He was known for doing paper cuts while he told his stories. He was a great story teller, and so with that tradition we have paper crafts to go with the story,” says Children’s/Teen Reference Librarian Sarah Nelson.
The author who is best known for his fairy tales wrote other classics such as “The Ugly Duckling” and “The Little Mermaid.”
