$30,000 Damage in Moorhead Garage Fire

Authorities respond to a garage fire in south Moorhead.

A neighbor spotted the fire in the 1600 block of 12th Street South shortly before 9 this morning.

People were home at the time, but the fire was confined to their detached garage.
There were no injuries.

Authorities say the fire was accidental, most likely caused by smoking material thrown away.

Greg Doeden, Asst. Chief, MFD: “There were snow blowers, lawnmowers; there was a car in there that suffered heat and smoke damage, so yeah considerable damage to the belongings in the garage.”

Damage is estimated at $30-thousand.
