North Dakota Tornado Drill Day

Tornado Drill Day was declared across the state of North Dakota.

This morning, the National Weather Service issued a simulated tornado warning.

All counties statewide received “test” Tornado Warning with sirens sounding on a community by community basis.

Tornado Drill Day encourages the public to develop a disaster plan in case of a future emergency.

Cass County Emergency Manager Dave Rogness says, “In situations where the sirens go off and we have a weather issue, often times it’s a panic kind of situation and if people have a plan, have thought about it and have hopefully even practiced it that works a lot better than trying to figure it in a moment of crisis.”

Tornado Drill Day is just one of the activities taking place for Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week.
