The cold and rainy weather did not stop one special needs athlete from overcoming his obstacle in mobility.
TNT Kid’s Fitness and Gymnastics hosted an All Abilities Relay Event inspired by their client who has shown miracles do exist.
“I’ve been working a lot on this I’m so proud,” said Justin Meyer TNT Client.
Justin has spent most of his 19 years in a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy.
He is a longtime client at TNT and they have been training him to walk since winter.
As a fun way to honor athletes of all abilities, TNT hosted an “All Abilities Relay” Event.
“So many kids that need movement in their life that don’t get it either because it’s not available or not provided,” said Tom McDougall TNT Board Director.
Justin has walked before, but wanted to take his first steps outside, on the streets of downtown Fargo. TNT put together a group of athletes to help Justin accomplish his goal.
TNT faculty, staff, parents, and even community members came out today rain or shine to support Justin on his big day.
The rainy and cold weather put no damper on the excitement of the day. Small teams of athletes station themselves in the rain all to pass along the baton for Justin to cross the finish line.
“I don’t think he felt the weather today. You can just tell I his face it just lite up. Very excited the weather could have been snowing out I don’t think he would have stopped,” said Tim and Alise Meyer Justin Parents.
“It was cold, wet, very wet but you made it right. Yup. You made it till the end. Yup,” said Justin Meyer TNT client.
Never having the chance to win an award, Justin is now able to say that he has earned a medal.
