MSUM Commencement Ceremony

MSUM awarded degrees to 940–students at this year’s spring commencement ceremony.

Faculty, staff, parents, and families of graduates all gathered at the university’s Nemzek Fieldhouse to watch them walk the stage.

It’s that time of year where college students finally get to see their hard work pay off.
Graduation.

For many MSUM students, the day seems all too surreal.

“It’s crazy it seems like my college 4–years went by super superfast, and I kind of can’t believe I’m graduating. It didn’t seem real until I woke up today like oh! I’m graduating today,” said Evangeline Holley MSUM graduate.

Evangeline is a College of Science graduate, and her parents were center stage to see her graduate.

Her parents Rinita and George are faculty at MSUM and had the opportunity to shake her hand, and hand over her the diploma.

Something they say was dear to their heart.

“Two times a year we do this.. All of the other kids graduate.. It’s special. It just makes this entirely different and very special,” said Parents of Evangeline George and Rinita.

And of course a commencement ceremony couldn’t be official until the dropping of the balloons to make them official MSUM graduates

With finals, study groups, and all–nighters officially over, Evangeline has big plans to celebrate but not just yet.

“First go back and get in my pajamas and watch TV, and then I’ll probably celebrate with some friends tonight. But first I just want to get under a blanket and not do anything for the rest of the afternoon,” said Evangeline Holley.

Congratulations to all the MSUM graduates and good luck on your future career endeavors.
