Former Firefighter and Fiance Accused of Arson

A former firefighter and his fiancé are accused of setting their apartment complex on fire in Park River.

21-year-old Aaron Fernelius and 22-year-old Jennifer Lanter are both facing multiple counts of arson related charges.

Authorities say the couple admitted setting the fire in their bedroom.

Fire crews were able to prevent it from spreading, but the entire building suffered smoke damage.

Fernelius had just resigned from being a probationary member of the Grafton volunteer fire department.
