The 20th annual Ribfest is underway and ribbers are already rackin’ them up.

Many in the valley are already making their way to this year’s Ribfest.

Music, ribs, and cheers are filling up the Fargodome.
Many in the area are making their way to this year’s Ribfest, and some already say they ate way too much.

“I want to go to sleep,” said Ryan Olson of Fargo.

It’s a festival where people like Paul Mackay can show off their skills on the grill.

“This is kind of a way that we get to expose people to something new and so they get to come along and try all the different ones,” said Mackay.

He’s one of seven vendors at Ribfest hoping to entice people with some new recipes.

“So far so good, I’m trying the Jamaican. Never tried the Jamaican so it’s something new and adventuresome for me,” said Martha Burns of Fargo.

Along with new foods, this year’s Ribfest will include a big lineup including Gin Blossoms and The Rembrandts.
There’s also entertainment for the kids.

Many who are at the festival say the food and the entertainment keep them coming back every year.

“The food, always the food,” said Olson.

“Mostly just for the entertainment,” said Burns.

And MacKay tells us there’s one key step for a good rack of ribs.

“You need to take your time most people rush it. It really is a painstakingly long process,” said MacKay.

It’s a fun time if you’re a fan of ribs, entertainment, and you guessed it… more ribs.

The festival runs through Saturday, rain or shine.
